Graduation Project 2010
By the graduation in 2010, Camilla Lagerbon was one among many who showed an impressive presentation. Here Camilla tells a little about her inspiration:
My main inspiration comes from a photo series called “Spooky little girl like you” by the Swedish photographer Denise Grünstein. The series is a reflection of how society still has difficulty accepting that it is different. An unbalanced world who would rather be equal.
The collection is also inspired by the figure of the Italian comedy mask “Commedia dell’arte” from the 1500′s. The piece has a mixed expression of classic circus shapes and colors and a darker character traits. This is typical of the temporal arts, who wore an expression of depression and hope.
As an additional visual reference to the 1500′s, I used the old keys with their shapes and function that reminds me about that times craftsmanship and technology. My craftsmanship has been the starting point deconstruction of classic tailor-jackets and shirts.
A modern form of tailoring with lots of layer upon layer, where funny proportions helps create my modern style. Classical textile design with self-irony and humor.
